Well when I got it yesterday, it was bright yellow with black dots and a nice round white belly :)
As I was watching him yesterday I noticed he was changing his colors a lot ! When I first came in the fish room after being out for a few hours, he was white and yellow - no dots. Then he swam right over to me and went back to normal. And then today while I was feeding him some bloodworms, the yellow turned to a dark green, maybe he was "hunting" ?

Is this normal, is this okay? I've had Chomper over a year now, and he doesn't change color.

Also, the top of its head is not round at all, its flat - maybe a different species ?

Sorry no pics yet. Oh yea, he (or she) is pretty young looking, just under and inch long. And needs a name ! I was thinking Hunter because of the color thing - but I had a dwarf puffer named Hunter and I don't wanna reuse the name.

Hmm...unusual! Puffers like F8s and GSPs do brighten and darken in the vibrancy of their markings depending on how happy they are: the happier, the brighter (sometimes so they look luminous even). But, I'm not sure about losing the dots and going white/yellow. Could just be an extreme case of it. They're known to misbehave to get attention too, so perhaps that?
Just guess work though...see if anyone else has any ideas.
