I was wondering what is the favorite and best food to get a GSP? Ive been feeding mine frozen blood worms and he seems to like it, but I want to know if their is something better I should be feeding him?

It's always worth referring to Fishbase when putting together the menu for aquarium fish. Just like humans -- what fish like to eat is not necessarily what's best for them!

In the case of Tetraodon nigroviridis for example, the diet includes invertebrates (including molluscs and crustaceans) as well as some plant matter. They are also reputed to eat the scales and fins of other fish, which very likely accounts of their supposed aggression in captivity. The diet of Tetraodon fluviatilis is very similar, including both animal and plant foods.

The ideal diet would therefore be very mixed indeed, and could include snails, chopped mussel, unshelled crustaceans such as krill, tinned peas, algae wafers, and the occasional piece of fish, for example frozen lancefish.

Cheers, Neale

I have always had great success with mussels. No puffer here has ever turned them down.

One of mine does seem to really like peas.
