I wasn't sure where to post this at so I chose the hospital. I have a 20 gallon tank. I bought 6 neon tetras and one cory cat. I have had my tank up about 4 weeks. I cycled my tank with Dr. Tim's Aquatics. Shortly after one of the neons died. I checked my pH, ammonia, and nitrate levels. They all came back fine. The pH is 7.5, no ammonia, no nitrates and no nitrites. So I thought maybe the fish didn't adjust very well. The next day another fish died. This went on for four days straight, a fish dying each day. I am now down to 2 neon tetras and the cory cat. I didn't change anything in the tank since I introduced the fish. I fed them once a day, and I changed 25% of my water. Could this be Neon tetra disease or could this be something else? From what I have found I could not find any cure if this is Neon tetra disease. It is only contagious to other tetras and not the cory cat. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What test kits are you using? There should be some nitrate in a cycled tank with fish.

It is tetra laborrat test kit.

how did you cycle it again?

Was it with live bacteria? If not then it wasn't cycled and adding fish has possibly spiked the tank...

odd that your test kit is showing no nitrates in an apparently cycled tabk... means the test kit is not working...

I used Dr. Tim's Aquatics, which is a live bacteria. It is similar to BioSpira.
