The Puffer Forum

After my first mistake, I had re-do my cycling, and now is ready for my puffer.
Yesterday, I went to my LFS and get my second porcupine puffer, it looks much better than the first one that I had returned.
It is in my QT right now, doing pretty good, eating, swimming.
here are some picture of it, and I want professional to help me out, see if it's sick or have anything else. (I didn't plan to let it stay in QT too long, probably a week or two )
First day in QT, sometime it hit it head on the glass or the filter, is that normal Oo"? it just swim so fast and !!! HIT!! also, there is a kind of light brown area on it peak, I am afraid it's infection again, so if anyone can make sure for me, that will be great. TY

but now it's kind of freak me out, cuz right before I get out to work, it stop moving and lay on the sand.

The puffer maybe be resting. Don't stress out to much.

Congratulations on getting that larger tank and your new puffer. Porcs are so entertaining you will be in love in no time. Just take the advice of the people around here they do know what they are talking about.

ty, but if my puffer is very stress, is there a way I can help?
right now, it is laying on the sand or rock again, just like the first porc that I had, I am afraid it got infection again T_T
should I leave her alone for a night, and see if she start moving again?

I'd leave her alone, she's stressed and should come around in a day or so.
Also that brown stuff doesn't look like an infection to me, more like markings. I wouldn't be worried about it.

for the last 6 hours it laied on the same place. Normal?
until I feed her some ghost shrimp, she starts move a little and lay back on the sand again.

Sounds like she could be grumpy or sleeping a lot. Is she eating?

maybe she had jet net during the shipping LOL~
yea, she is still eating, I put on 4 snails and 2 ghost shrimps and she ate them all (I still don't know how much to feed her, cuz her belly never get round)
then she move a little bit, and find a place and lay on it for couple hours.
I found something really funny
she like right side of the tank to be her poopy place, that size had a lot of POOOPPPPP LOL

since I am doing a water change today, I might just move her to the big tank(my QT is so small v^^")
gonna see if she will gonna lay for hoursss~

her tail keeps on one side when she is laying.
I am gonna move her in to my main tank now.
PP, dead food you mean the frozen one? I am thinking to go to supermarket and get some mussels and shrimps, wash and freeze them, and then feed it to my puffy.
