cloudy swollen eye?!?!

Our three puffers are settling down nicely. The overeater from yesterday is returning to his normal energetic personality.

The new problem is one of them has a cloudy and somewhat swollen eye. What could cause that overnight? None of the puffers have been aggressive toward each other and were purchased from the same tank. We even caught them sleeping in a pile during the wee hours of the morning.

Tank mates:
2 platys
1 molly

Total we have three VERY young (teeny tiny) GSPs. We're currently shopping for a larger tank.

Do a WC & add Melafix every day for a week.

Thanks! We did a water change earlier. I was just checking back for replies because the eye has gotten worse. Any place that would have the meds will be closed before we can get there, so I'll have to get that in the morning.

Thanks again!

If it does not seem to improve, antibiotic baths and soaking his food in antibiotics may help. Shakespeare scratched his eye and got an infection which I kept hoping would get better if I kept the meleafix going long enough, and it did, but not until after corneal scarring blinded it for life.
