GSP's known to need dentistry?

i was wondering if i should be conserned about my gsp cus he doesnt seem to go after the snails i have offered so i just kept feeding him bloodworms and frozen shrimp. do they have a problem with their beak like some of the other puffers? and what are some of the good foods for a gsp in marine salinity besides snails that would help with beak overgrowth?

Yes, they can get an overgrown beak, though it takes a good while. Mussel or crayfish are good hard shelled foods, I smack the mussels with a hammer, so they have to chew the meat off the shell bits.

I buy mine in the frozen seafood section at wal mart for under $5.00. It lasts 6 months. I feed them to all my fish w/ other varied foods.

Also, don't give up on the snails! Sometimes it takes them a while to realize that they can eat them. My F8 took like 3 weeks to realize the ghost shrimp could be eaten!

You break mussels with their shells and then you put them directly in the tank ?

thats the idea. Just freeze them for a couple days if you buy them from the seafood department of your grocery store. Then thaw them out in some tank or vitamin water. If they don't seem to go for it you can also soak them in garlic water as well.
