Hi pufferpeople,

I've almost finished a small book on MARINE puffers (in German), which is intended to be cheap (less than 10 Euros) and should be sold to people, who buy marine puffers directly at the LFS. So they would have a kind of care sheet at hand (actually I believe the sheet will be 64 pages ).

The text was finished long ago, but I am not a good photographer and need more pictures.
ALL marine puffers are welcome (no porcupines, they'll get their own volume later this year... I'm working on it... but if you got pictures of those, they will be welcome, too).
Pictures should be quite in focus and more than 640 pixels wide.
Naturally your names will appear in the book. T. fluviatilis could be useful, too.

Please let me know if you got any pictures that can be used.

thats great corvus! maybe a special version in english for us haha.

I would not exclude that the publisher decides we can translate the book on marine puffers. I fear my English would not be sufficient and need massive corrections anyway. The other German puffer book on Freshwater and brackish puffers (different publisher) was translated into English, too.

Your English is more precise and clear than many native speakers of the language. I'd be happy to volunteer editing time if that would be an issue.

With regard to the editing I'll keep it in mind and suggest it to the publisher, when we discuss a possible translation into English. I'll get back to you, when I am given the nod.

I would love to donate some Fluviatilis pictures, but alas, my camera is *pathetic*, and I don't really have access to a good one. Plus, my Ceylons are still little babies. ^_^

Now I'm curious Corvus. Any plans to write care information on FW and Brackish water puffers?

So far I have no plans to write on FW or brackish puffers. There is already the aqualog book available.

I have lots of pictures of marine puffers but the quality may not be up to standards as I cannot afford a good enough camera.

corvus, i am going by american printing standards but i presume you will need at least 300 PPI? and what size photos are you looking for? im assuming 30pX30p?

i dont own any marine puffers but if i happen to be at a fish store or aquarium ill try and remember to take a camera and get some shots for you.

300 ppi (=pixels per inch or dpi=dots per inch) is sufficient. The minimum width should be about 640 pixels, at 300 ppi this would be about 2.2 inch, which equals 5.5 cm. But larger of course would be better. If you should stumble over some marine puffers and be able to get some pictures, this would be great.

Too bad, you have a nice collection of marine puffers! Some of those in your gallery would have an adequate size, they just would need to be in focus

I can give you a few shots of my porc and valentini, they won't be the greatest shots in the world, but they will be decent.
