Green Spotted Pufferfish just intoduced to new tank yesterday is not moving unless something approaches it. doesn't eat anymorejust floats around randomly. At first would float with head touching top of water surface then would float wherever teh currents from the filter took him then after 3-5 minutes would intentionally swim back up to surface but then just started staying on the bottom of tank occasionaly moving once every 20-30 minutes on average.
tankmates include GSP and common pleco
nitrate=5
nitrite=0
ammonia=0
alkalinity=7.8
tank mates never had any fighting or fin nipping problems. Grandparents bought this fish for me, please help.

What size tank? What has it eaten, if ever? What have you offered it? Is there any salt in there? Please read the GSP article in our Library.

100 gallon tank mostly eats ghost shrimp or frozen cooked shrimp there is salt but no tester, about 1 teaspoon salt per gallon water. already read GSP article

GSP just died. flash freezed to make sure so he didn't suffer, noticed top spotted part of puffer getting darker and discolored while being sick. anyrisk of passing on to other live pufferfish in tank?

Please list the inhabitants of your tank.

there were two GSPs in the one hundred gallon tank that he was in, has proper filtration and heating for the size of tank and the newest water parameters are:
ammonia=0.05
nitrite=0
nitrate=10
PH=7.5
hydrometer read 1.005

And the other 2 are fine? I'd say something must have happened to it in transport to or at the LFS or something. Are the other puffers at the LFS still looking good?

The other ones were fine but I saw one of them bite a hole in the bag we were transporting them in as there was a wrinkle in the bag so he could easily get his mouth around itso we had a bit of a panic as we were in the car on the way home and still 30 miles from their awaiting tank but we found a grocery bag to put them in, there were two in that bag and the other one is doing fine, eating like the first one (put first one in with the surviving new one and gave the pleco some dragon goby friends and so far all have gotten along just fine, but, do you think that these tankmates will do well together?)

No, the pleco is strictly a FW fish & will not appreciate salt of any kind. They will also attack any slow-moving fish like the dragon goby.

O.K. Will be looking for another tank to put him in. My house is so messy that I can't tell if there are any other tanks within my house. If not will buy another at store (earl may, wal mart, and sundance feed and seed). Until then I have set up an aquarium seperater to they are kept in species only sections.

By the way, J. Just as a note of concern...your Bala Sharks will eventually need a MUCH larger tank...especially if you plan to keep all three of them. They can grow to be 16"...and should have at least 150g. Just a thought... How's the puff-puff doin? Last PS (I'm getting off topic, so must quit). Craigslist is a fantastic place to find aquariums, because you can search locally in your area. I've found most of mine on craigslist or ebay for fantast deals. Aquabid, too.
