Right i brought it as a striped Dog face but i dont think it is! Any Ideas?????

hmm he's kinda not really spotty, more like the reticulated but his colouring is kinda chocolate brown and white!

That is a Stars and Stripes Puffer otherwise known as Arothron hispidus.

Chin and recombinan are probably right, but I'd like to see a better picture and know its size.

Hmmmm must admit i wasn't expecting it to get sooooooooooo big, but it is moving into a new tank once it has finished cycling. im turning my 100g community tank marine and the ocupants of it are all moving to a a 140g tank!
on the pufferpedia it says it will need more than the 100g i have but im afraid thats as much as i can give it! (i do have a 3ft sump on it aswell tho)
Im still trying to get a good pic of it will post as soon as i can!

From picture and stated size I believe this puffer is a rarely traded Arothron reticularis, which will get a little larger than the A. nigropunctatus, but stays smaller than the A. hispidus. Don't keep it with too small fishes. Ebert reports it to be more piscivorous than other Arothrons.

Thanks corvus, din't mind at all about the pic, i only wish i could have got one a little less blurry, will see if my brother in law can bring his super dooper camera over and get and better pics! mine just dont seem to take them quick enough when its always moving! im quite please with my little puff as he wasn't very expensive! ( i guess its because he was advertised as a striped dog face) he has a grammar and a clown in with him as well as a cleaner shrimp, a hermit crab and a few turbo snails, so far he has left them all alone and is feeding well on cockle in the shell and mussel! im guessing as he gets bigger the inverts may be eaten? and possibly the clown and grammar?
