GSP died...

Sadly, our GSP has passed... I tried everything as far as advice went. I want another GSP but will not purchase another till my tank is at PERFECT parameters. What really kills me is he/she seemed so alive and happy, then (poof) dead.. I do not know what went wrong, I took PP's advice and did water changes daily, constantly checking ammonia, nitrites, etc... I am just going to give up for now, start a "fishless cycle" after I move, and hopefully can raise a baby GSP to full marine with better success. I've seen some amazing Saltwater tanks online, are GSPs good with coral/anemones as adult puffers?

Sorry to hear that. Don't let the death of a fish make you lose hope in the hobby.

Depends on the GSP. Most will limit your selection of corals.

I am sorry for your loss. IMO I would not put a puffer and an anemone together as puffers dim-witted curiosity can cause them to get seriously injured or worse. IME, All of the GSP's I have owned have never ate a single coral but.....that doesn't mean that one you get doesn't have a taste for some. It just depends on the puffer.

You know that's a good question, I have 2 adult GSP in a 55 gallon SW aquarium and I recently added 2 1/4 lbs of premium cured live rock and pretty much, as soon as I added it *one of them bit me as I was placing it in the water* they began noseing around and under it and looking very carefully at anything and everything on the rocks and then began the pecking. I was wondering myself if I should remove them when I start adding anemones and coral? They are pretty destructive and curious and those two together are dangerous

. I don't want to remove them, they're lovely sweet fish, that even recognize their food bottles....but I want a reef system eventually :*(. However, they have been getting very well along with my other 2 saltwater fish, a domino damsel and a yellow tail damsel. There's been no fighting at all. Anyway should i remove them to another tank or leave them be? they're flourishing int he sw tank.

sorry for you loss.
Re-cycle your tank from scratch, taking your time to make sure everything is stable and correct before trying again... being patient is annoying, but get it right and your fish could last 20 years, so a few weeks is neither here nor there...
....then find a reputable fish shop, if you can get a healthy to start with then that may help in the long run...
Katesstar: If you are happy to just keep leathers/mushrooms and hermit crabs then you *should* be ok to keep the GSP in there, (tank size dependent ie 60G minimum)
If you want to try hard corals, or other softies, then each coral you add could end up a VERY expensive meal for your puff friends...
