Poisoned Puffer?

I recently introduced living rock into my aquarium which housed my 2 GPS, which were thriving and happy, all the way up till I introduced the rocks a few hours a go. At first they were fine and ignoring the rocks, which are premium living rock and had a couple of "living creatures" on them, one of them being some kind of odd snail along with various algea and some "starfish" looking things and something bright orange. The puffers began to check the rocks out and that led to pecking at the things on the rocks and they killed the snail. Anyway, one of them started acting really sick after an hour of pecking and now his underbelly is dark green and his tail is wrapped around his body and he's "sitting" on the UG filter and one of his eyes is "swollen" and kinda "cloudy" and the other one is normal. The other puffer in the tank however is just as healthy as ever and is about his usual business. I'm pretty sure the sick one will be dead soon.....was he poisoned? I'm not exactly sure how he went downhill in a matter of hours so quickly. I'm thinking maybe he ate something on the rocks that was poisonous? Any idea?

What SG are they at?
Where did you get the rock from?
How many pounds?
Did you cure it 1st?
Check your parameters.

It's ok, he recovered an hour later. He's eating and swimming normally now and he's back to his regular color. It only lasted for about 1 1/2 hours, then he recovered. I've got my 2 puffers in a 55 gallon salt aquarium, I only bought 2 1/4 lbs of live rock...at 13 dollars a pound, it's all I can afford at a time ::sigh:: and it was cured when i got it. The salinity is around 1.024, they're adult puffers. I think the odd snail in the tank that came on the rocks might of stung him before they killed it and it made him sick. Though the other one was pecking to and he was fine. Anyway the puffer is fine, he ate a full breakfast of krill this morning and is swimming and playing in the bubbles. :) TY

maybe he was just full after a big meal...

mine sometimes go for an 'after dinner snooze' where they will go find somewhere snug and curl up for a couple of hours..

you still want to watch your parameters incase there is any die off from the rock from being out of water during transit, or from entering new water, if the SG was different from the shop it could shock the rock and spike your ammonia...

:)

$13/lb?? I've never paid anything over $4. Go to http://www.reefcentral.com & look into a local reef club near you for lots of cheap stuff locally. Also try http://www.craigslist.com to see if anyone nearby is selling off rock from their tanks.

My store is one of the only ones out this way that has live rock, we sell partially cured/cured with no growth for 10$ a pound and fully cured with pods, coraline, and macroalgae for 16$ a pound.

Not only that but if it's from a local reefer's tank, it's totally cured!
