GSP looking sick in the morning

I'm not sure if this is common with GSP or not, but i'm a little concerned. My fish came form a LFS that is known for not taking care of their fish, they were fairly sick looking when I got them when but have come around quite a bit. Every morning though they have dark bellies and are lying on the bottom of the tank and come around again after the lights have been on for about 5 minutes or so.
They are in a 33g
SG 1.010
ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate under 20ppm
Ph 8-8.5
I know the 33 is a bit small for them, but I will be moving them to a 55g by christmas time. They are juveniles now at about 1.5-2 inches. Other tank inhabitants are 2 balloon mollies and a knight gobythat I didn't even know I still had, I thought he was dead & eaten as I hadn't seen him in a couple months, even during WC and aquascaping.
so am I worrying about nothing? Maybe they're just sleeping?
They also eat very well, I feed twice a day with a varied diet, mussels, raw shrimp, freeze dried bloodworms that I reconstitute in tank water and freeze dried krill with which I do the same. I also give them pond snails, but they won't eat them. They do gnaw on the mussel shells as i open them and drop them into the tank so hopefully this will help keep beaks down. Oh, and one of them (tweedle Dee) seems to want me to put the food directly in his mouth when I hand feed, opens wide and looks at me.
