Hi,

I am new in PUFFER, I just got 3 SAP from LFS, they are only 2~2.5" now. I want to know how big these cute little guys can grow.
I have done some reading on the web and the info I got are quite different: from 7.5cm to 15 cm. Can somebody here point out how big they can grow? BTW, my tank is well planted 55g. Thanks.

Thanks a lot for your answer. The page on this website show that SAP can only grow to 7.5cm and the link is:ug.php/v/PufferPedia/Freshwater/C_Asellus/

But the following 3 links all show that SAP can grow up to 14~15 cm. I am really confused.

SAPs Colomesus assellus was likely often confused with the closely related C. psittacus which gets far bigger. Therefore the larger fishbase size and the other sites are probably citing fishbase.

I've learned not to take Fishbase as fact.

Yes it's a superb project and a very big help, but with too few people (and so many fish) working for the project, there is still a number of errors/inaccuracies and the database is not very up to date with the past 5 years.
