ok so my dad loves my dwarf puffers and my F8 puffers. He has a SW tank with a bunch of fish in there. Are there any community salt water puffers or less aggressive puffers for SW tanks? Can someone steer me in the right direction to start lookin at some sw puffers

thanks guys

Smaller SW puffers aren't usually too bad about tankmates, a toby puffer of some kind, like a valentini, would probably be fine.

SW puffers are generally much more tolerant of tank mates then FW or BW puffers. Do you know what size tank your dad has and what kind of fish are in it?

wow, his tanks sound cool!

what corals does he keep? The bigger puffers tend to be coral munchers.. and i bet he wouldn't like his prize corals given over to puffer food!

With those fish, I'm sure he's not keeping any corals then! I'd tell him to look at our Pufferpedia & check out the tobies/sharp-nosed puffers for his 55g.

Porcs require 100g minimum, so any tank mates would have to be small or else the bioload would be too high.

YA he has a 100 gallon. and the LFS suggested the porcupine and the stars and stripes for his tank with those fish. what do you think?

No, starss and stripes get far too big and aggressive to be kept in a tank that size, even by itself.
