I have a 50 gallon that is just now getting cycled, i have two figure eight puffer's that are very excited to be moved into their new tank:) i was wondering what else i could put in the tank with the puffers. i was thinking bumblebee goby's, any other thoughts? oh and i also need a lid for my tank, or is this necessary with puffers? Do they jump out if there's no closure? and for my final question, if i wanted to get a more exotic brackish puffer where would i look? i'm in canada if you have any ideas, Thanks

I'd lid the tank for sure! Mine get a bit jumpy sometimes while I'm cleaning their tank.

I have 2 F8's and a group of BBGs and they all get on well. The gobies clean up after the puffs when they've chowed down on mussel :D

I've been recommended Jordanella floridae, Xenotoca eiseni, orange chromides and knight gobies as possible tank mates for F8s as well :D

I got some rocks and made a cave for a dragon goby. Don't see him clearly but I know he's there.

I keep bumblebee gobies in with mine, they get along great. I was afraid he might try to nip at them, but they work out well together.

I've seen many people recommend the bumblebee gobies, and I've ordered a group for my F8 tank. I see how that goes. As far as a lid for the tank, a resounding Yes! One of my F8s jumped out in the middle of the night, and I found him dead. Granted, he was much more jumpy than the other one and seemed to have something wrong with him. However, just about everyone who has owned a F8 will tell you to cover your tank as they will try to jump.
