HI everyone, I recently got 5 dearf puffers, 2 immediately disappeared, I still can't find them. Intially they cleaned up the snails in the tank within a week. I think I have 3 or 4 now and I fed them blood worms which intially they ate. The past 2 days I have noticed they are no longer eating the bloodworms and there aren't many snails to be feeding on. I checked the parameters of the water and they are fine, the tank was cycled and established with 20 fish before I introduced them. Their tank is a 50 gallon planted tank. I see them picking at the algae sometimes but I am concerned since they are not eating the bloodworms. Any suggestions

Have you checked the water parameters lately (amonia, No2, No3)?
Do they have rounded belly all the time? It might be they have plenty of food with the snails so bloodworms aren't as interesting.
If it's a planted tank, you probably still have all your DPs, but they are hiding!

Yes I have a master test kit and all is well, I am hoping they are just stuffed, they all have rounded bellies, I am hoping the missing 2 are hiding out.

I feed my puffers every other day and they get snails from time to time. Dwarf puffers LOOOOVE to search for food. That's all mine do. Scout the tank for food and beg me for food.
There's a good chance they're just not hungry or they're finding some more snails somewhere
Watch their tummies, like the above poster said, that's a good indicator of if they're going hungry.
What kind of fish are they in there with? I'm just curious because Dwarf Puffers are notorious bullies, so watch your other fishs' fins to make sure they're not being nipped! I hope your little guys are doing ok!! They're great fish!

Thanks, I removed the tropicals before I put them in. It must be that they are full, I have been feeding twice a day
