but i have a juv. stars and stripes and a fu manchu......
I won't do anything until i transfer them to a 125G tank which will be in around 3 months time... but after that, could i consider creating a corner of the tank for ocellaris clowns?
or is that never going to work because of the size the stars will get too? He seems so shy, darting away from anything (me included).. can't imagine him going for anything..
but am i dreaming?

The Stars an Stripes won't bother them. I would be more worried about the lion. In a larger tank it could be possible with enough rock and such.

i wondered about the lion...
but if i can get full grown pair then i think they would be too big to be considered 'swallowable' ...
woun't fancy putting young clowns in though.. so guess it would depend what i could find...
is your stars really shy?

No, he likes to be out in front whenever possible. He swims in the current, I call it his exercise....lol
If you can get a adult pair than I don't think he will bother them but you never can tell. You can always get a larger species of clown like a Clarkii. I had a single Clarkii (adult) in with my Volitan Lionfish and there was never an issue. I always say..anything larger than their mouths (fully opened that is) are good. Lol.

hmmm...
maybe i should increase the flow... see if he prefers it...
his colour is good, and if i stay away from the tank he bumbles about, but if i walk past the tank he scoots behind the protein skimmer motor....
want him to be happy and bold...
Lions do have very big mouths when they 'yawn'... hmmmm

Perhaps he is still shy a little. I am sure he will get over it. My fahaka took several months before he would come out and greet me.

i realised today that my tank was running at 23 degrees C instead of 25...
had to move the tank a few weeks ago and maybe it got knocked...
dunno... but moved it back up to 25 and low and behold my little stars has been out and about all day exploring the rocks etc.... not hiding at all....
so maybe that was was the problem... guess time will tell...

It's a good possibility.
