He should be fine, I don't think a carrot would harm him in anway

He should be fine, but I wouldn't recommend doing it again, carrots wouldn't exactly be something they'd eat in their natural habitat.
Also- Why is this in FW puffers? Ceylons are brackish, lol.

We feed ours frozen veggies once in a while, though they don't really like carrots, they kind of like peas, but what they really love is corn. It's more of a treat, just to get some extra vitamins and what not in them, and lots of other members do it as well, including PP, I think. As long as it's not their staple, can't see anything wrong with it. Spoot even tried to feed them some nori once. Didn't take, though

Interesting choice, what made you think to try a carrot?
I'd be worried about the sugar content in corn, carrots, and some other starchy veggies. Definitely not something that would be eaten in the natural environment. I'd stick with foods that are close to what they would naturally feed on.

Are Ceylons omnivorous like GSPs? I would think they would be, especially if he's eating carrots, lol.

I've never tried veggies, just algae wafers.

I cant see a carrot being bad for a puffer..Its full of carotene as with ghost shrimp along with other shrimps. Plus the vitamins it might get in the wild from native plants/corals(when/if they go full SW). If i may be wrong with this, but im sure carrots have a good amount of calicum in them also. The only draw backs i could see is it's a veggie and may give the puffer the "fishy-poo's" lol

One good thing about carrots is that it will help to keep their teeth in order. Rabbits use carrots for the same reason, if I'm not mistaken.

I'd not make a regular habbit of feeding veggies to your puffer. Stick with crunchy, meaty foods.

Yeah, I'm too lazy to cut up carrots for my puffers anyways. ^_^
I just give them the blended peas/broccoli/shrimp/spirulina/vitamins concoction I made a while back. They seem to love it, and it has tons of good stuff, so I find its worth it.

I read it here earlier about puffer can get constipated. I give pea to my beta twice a week. I assume giving my GSP pea, brocolli occasionally should be ok, right. I certainly do not want my puffers get constipated. What about algae wafer? can it prevent constipation? Thank u guys.

My bad. At least I didn't get it completely wrong, at least others have tried it too.
