My GSP, Buffy, puffed this morning! His tummy went grey, and he was on his side, flapping about in the air bubbles, then he puffed himslef up, and stayed like that for a good 20 mins, I was rushing around, water testing, checking temps, light, filter -- all working properly, water stats ok.....
then he "went down", came to the front f the glass and looked at me as if to say "gave ya a fright didn't I?? He he" and then swam off to nibble a snail shell!
Wow, don't they look wierd when they do that?? Gave me a bit of a scare, I thought he was sick!

My palembang scared me half to death last Saturday too (it was the first time I saw a puffed puffer!). Yes, they are really strange when they puff. Dragonfly floated around, like a huge ball (the size of my dog's favorite toy balls), and she didn't seem to be in any control of the drifting around. But she deflated as soon as she saw me. I don't think she wanted me to know what she is capable of doing.

Some puffers like puffing. For practice, because you react, because the phase of the moon is right...

Buffy just did it again this morning!!
It's almost like he knows how I reacted last time, and it doing it almost to order now!
(mind you, he does get a titbit or two, when he does it!)
Next time I'll try and get him with the camera!
Oh, and i think perhaps my He, could be a She. Because he-she is now making a "nest" in the gravel in one particular place.
