I find Some puffers you get are much more curious then the others. Everyday i come home from work i can feel my male red eye(Irrubesco) knows and watching me. right now he's in a QT with the female in the kitchen counter facing the livingroom. Everytime i walk close by i can tell he's watching. When i first got him i thougth he was hungry but that wasnt the case. Seems like he wants to say something to me or perhaps play with him. The female on the other hand doesnt really pay attention to me. She just do her own thing. I feel lucky to have him as a friend. He's only less then 1 inch long. I figure he's still a baby. Puffers have supre eye sight!!! I always want to know what he's really thinking. Any of your puffer do similar thing or beyond? Please share if you want!!!

Shelby follows me everywhere, that's how all my puffers were. Your little girl will get used to you and follow you soon.

There are big differences between my puffers. Hufflepuff is definitely the most social one, and is always up and down the tank glass when he sees me (hoping for food). My F8s are also coming up to the glass when they see me. The lortetis mostly do it, but not always. My GSP avoids me as much as possible. She is a big wimp. Tiger is a wimp at daytime, but not so much when it's dark. My palembang is trying to say "I don't care about anyone outside my tank", but she doesn't really mean it. She always comes to me, when she sees me, but pretends it's not because of me she came to the front of the tank. My irrubescos are mostly not visible in the tank at all, but not because they are afraid of me. They are just...eeer... not very pufferlike. At least the male takes a "chat" with me the few times he is out of hiding. The female is more worried. My salivator is also very strange. He can be a wimp, but sometimes isn't. I never find out what he really is. He prefers to hide from me, but sometimes acts like he doesn't care anyway. And then there's my suvattii. He mostly hides behind a wooden root, on the side that is against the wall, so he doesn't see what's going on in front of his tank. So when there's food for him, I have to go to the side of the tank, to get his attention. And when he sees me there, he knows it's not useless to come out to me. It always means food.

My gsp's watch me all the time. I love them!

My f8 hates me and never comes out. When I come over to the tank he doesn't even care!

My Figure Eight watches me when I am in my kitchen, but I think he is just begging for food. My Fahaka does the same thing.
I am most proud of my Fugu puffer who used to dart under the sand when he saw humans but now is a bit braver and will actually come to the glass when I am looking at him. Not for long though as I don't think he wants to show his soft side.

They are such a wondeful friend to have. If only they can talk..heh.

I think the constant, repeated chattering of "feed me nightcrawlers! FEED ME!" and "Get the sucky hose thing out of the tank! The hose angers me!" would get exhausting

LOL! Yes, I guess that would be a not so very interesting conversation. But I would add some not so nice words when they are sulking. Hufflepuff would have said. "Ump! I don't want to talk to you! You gave me freeze dried krill! That's not food! I don't want to see you again! Look, all you will see ever again is my tail!" Or "How can you leave me behind! I've been home alone for many days, without food! I don't want to talk to you ever again! Look, all you will see is my tail!" And about the same thing if I wake him up from his sleep.

And Tiger: "WHAT DID YOU GIVE ME FREEZE DRIED KRILL FOR??? THAT IS NOT FOOD!!! I HATE YOU!!! I will pretend that the reflection on the glass wall is you, and look what I will do to you if you put your finger into the water right now! I HATE YOU!!! TAKE THAT AND THAT AND THAT!!!"

The first time I gravel vacuumed my GSP's tank he was furious with me for a week - he was like I HAET U SO HARD!!1!

I think Clooney was far too soft to have the ump with me. he would sometimes pretend I wasn't there and then it would be like "who am I kidding I love you man, now go to that big white cupboard and get me some clams"

Or when I put new plants in it would be "ooh that looks nice, can I eat it? lemme just see, hmmm it doesn't smell like food, though maybe I could sleep under it. OK you can put it there I guess but don't get angry with me when I swish my big tail at feeding time and it goes floating off. Speaking of feeding time when does the crab claw arrive......"
