Hello friends!

I'd just like to find out what's the matter with my F8. When the quarentine time was over I moved him to the main display with a lot of decor and plants. Well, the problem begins here: he swims around there, when I got home from work he sees me and begs for food like he had never eatten before (I always offer snails, shrimp and mussels). After the dinner time he looks to me and start to pace up and down the glass.

There's no reason to act like this. Here the water parameters goes:
20G tank
Temp: 80.6ºF/27ºC
PH: 7.8
SG: 1.001 (I'm still raising it)
Ammonia: zero
Nitrite: zero
Nitrate: zero at most part of time and shows 2.5mg/l when it's close to WC
WC - 50% weekly

The week ago I had to treat him with melafix and epsom salt because he scratched one of his eyes while pacing, now he's doing great and got his eyes clear/clean. Should I take him to see a psychiatrist? There's no reason to pace up and down the glass!

Does anybody have any clue/advice?

Some puffers just do this until they settle in. Shakespeare doesn't pace continually, per say, but to this day he paces a bit when he's in the mood and enjoys doing big energetic laps of the tank, mostly looking out into the room.

So... pacing does not mean boredom, does it?

No one knows for sure, but I think pacing is puffer for "I'm anxious".

My f8 does that all the time he has one special wall that he just paces up and down. Me and my sister think that he sees his reflection and is dancing with himself hee hee. I don't know if thats what hes really doing but he doesn't do it all the time but every once in awhile he seems to just want to burn off some energy. After hes done he goes to his favorite plant and sleeps, I don't know why he sleeps in a plant but he likes it!
