HAIRY PUFFERS ARE HERE!!!!

Heres the deal. There are three. One is small, light brown, pretty furry. One is orangey pink, small, not alot of hair. The third is the biggest, dark, modled looking with smaller pink patches of color, not so hairy.

SO.....

I want to get a pair and try to (maybe) breed them(or just have them live together would be fine!), but I am not sure which is which. I have a few therories, but that orangy one could just be an immature boy, and I think the bigger one is a girl... The smallest grey hairy one a boy, maybe?

I want to just buy all three.

So, in a huge tank, insanely planted, all three...with the possibility of two boys...or not because how much does anyone really know about these guys anyways???

HELP ME DECIDE!!!! All are sooooooo darn cute!!!! Do you think it could work? Are they like a Palembang personality? EEESH! HELP!!! :)

So, in case you are interested, I bought all three.

They were all fine and good for about an hour, but the biggest one was kinda routy. So, as I was typing this, the bigger guy was picking on the little furry guy, so the big one is going back to the store in the morning.
The other two seem to be ok, but I am not certain they really like eachother. I am nervous to go to bed.......I am gonna stay up for a while just to make sure...

There just isn't much info available on those. As far as I know, the members that are keeping them only have one per tank. What size tank are you using?

Hey! Where's the pics?!

An extremely heavily planted 65 gallon. I promise to get my blurry poopy pictures posted tomorrow when my soon-to-be-husband-in-12-days shows me how to do it. The only thing I really know how to do well on a computer is buy stuff off the internet. hee hee.

By the way...
Theres a reaon people keep one per tank...They are NASTY to eachother!!

Sounds Exciting...
Well... What I have been observing is that these guys ARE rather agressive... Have not seen how 2 would interact with each other though... Nothing much I can share with you except the joy of keeping these cuties...
Keep us posted!!
Guess it would depend on how heavily the tank is decorated. Worst case scenario... get another tank!! hehehehe

sPuffalopagus,
I took the other two back. Kinda stinks cuz they were sooo cute. My tank is solid plants, I mean, out of control. I need to trim the plants about every week. Tons of Malaysian driftwood, too. They had plenty of spots to go. They just dont like eachother. Way too aggressive. The one I kept reminds me of a red congo type color. I think its a girl because she only has a few little bristles around the face. One of the other ones I took back is for sure a boy he had fur all the way down his sides to his tail. He was the littlest one, anout 2.5 inches or so. I am sure he will be a hairy bohemeth when he gets mature, the other one was a little bigger and looks a lot like the one that Woland provided for the picture section. Really pretty. I will get to posting some picture as soon as I see the little girl come out of the jungle she lives in!

I think I would have kept the hairy one, since that's one of the things that makes these puffers so unique.

Where are you?

The one I kept is hairy. Its just red as well.

So the hairier ones are the males?

From what i understand, yes. By going with that, I think I may of had 2 boys and one girl. But the small, little pinky red one I kept has some hair, and could be a male, just isnt mature yet. Based on that, the biggest one would be a female. She was kind of dark with pink splotches. The little grey one was the most hairy, but his color was kinda boring. They are all hairy, just the one is the hairiest. They do not want to live with eachother at all, and believe me, you would want to live in my fishtank...

So, I am not sure how much we are going to price them at, (I havent seen an invoice yet, or paid for mine...) but I think they are going to be somewhere around 150 to 200 each. ( The shipping alone was 175 dollars for one box of fish. (eeesh) But I think they are totally worth it. So darn cute, They scoot around on the bottom like nothing I have ever seen. As soon as I can, I will get some pictures posted. Pufferpunk, you are in my area (sort of), shoot me over a message if you might be interested. If anyone else in the states is interested, let me know. I would rather ship one out to one of you guys then let them sit at the store....

I know how that 'sneaking' it in business goes. Sometimes you just have to. :)
