Urgent - Need help!!

Hi, my fish are ill. more specificly my cichlids are very unwell. i just did a water change and now their gills have got a shiny green film spreading out from they gill exit (where the exhaled water comes out.)
1 of my keyholes has flipped over and cant stay upright. does anyone Please know whats wrong, like i said i just did a water change and they were fine before so i really dont know whats wrong or what i can do, i live in the U.K so most if not all antibiotics are unobtainable.. HELP!!!!

Can you give us the parameters of the water?

Its ok i worked out what happened. tragic accident really. Filter got clogged + a massive input of ammonia from live brine shrimp that had been in the same small bag 4 days resulted in ammonia levels at 0.35!!!!! fixed now if course but too late
. oh well never again and i spose im lucky cos i only lost 1 keyhole

Ammonia of 0.35, really shouldn't kill yor fish.
How often & how much water do you change?
How many fish of what size, in what sized tank?

about 30% and that the changes are always weekly. and the 0.35 was after the water change. If it wasnt the ammonia then all other values are low so i dont know what else it couldve been.
He was panting since the water change, then 24 hrs later he had a fit, was thrashing about like mad, banging into the glass and was swimming around upside down, then died 10 mins later. he wasnt that old. 4 months ish.
The tank is 36"/12"/12" and has been set up and cycled for a month, There's 2 kribs, 1 med plec, a med catfish, a small catfish, 2 african butterfly's and 2 baby keyholes (the one that died was adult) a total of about 25" of fish, that will grow to mebbe 32" max.
Water params are Ph 7, Ammonia 0.1, Nitrite 0, Nitrate >15 (all in mg/l)
tapwater isnt much less.
this any good cause i really dont want it to happen again, it was really upsetting

Exeter, Devon. a ways away from derby. i think the water is soft but slightly alkaline due to the high calcium carbonate levels but i dont have a hardness test kit so i dont really know.
