Valentini Puffer Beak

I have had my Valentini Puffer for a couple of months. He is living peacefully with hermit crabs and snails. I know he needs to eat hard-shelled critters to keep his beak from over-growing, but he doesn't eat the hermits or snails. I was hoping for some suggestions on food that could help my little buddy out. Thanks Much.

Both Finquel and Clove oil have been suggested to knock out your puffer (temporarily) to trim its beak. Maybe you could feed it hard foods? What have you been feeding it?

You can try some mussel soaked in garlic. Garlic is a appetite enhancer. Also you can try to crush the snails before you feed him. Don't try dentistry unless it's a last ditch effort and he just wont eat any crunchy foods.

I'll give the mussels a try. I would very much like to stay away from dentistry and he isn't in dire need of a beak trimming just yet. Thanks for the suggestions.
