I was looking at a F8 at my local LFS but it looks like its teeth may be too long...? What do the F8's teeth look like when they are too long? I can see the teeth and it looks like it may not be able to close its mouth I see lips and teeth. It looks like his teeth come together, the top don't over hang the bottom. I looked on the net for a pic but can't seem to find one big enough to really see the teeth. I had them feed it in front of me and it was eating, they have been feeding it frozen krill, there are snail shells in the tank but they are all empty...

Since I have never trimmed teeth before i don't know if I want to do it immediately after I bought it.

Anyone have a picture of a F8 with overgrown teeth, or anything I should look for in order to tell if they are too long?

Sounds like they are too long, trimming teeth can be hard especially if they are really overgrown.
It might be best not to get it.

I tryed trimming my SAP once and i killed one of them. BE SURE NOT TO OVER DOSE WITH CLOVE OIL!!!!!

So should I not be able to see teath (beak) at all unless the mouth is open? I guess I'm wondering how one can tell when they are too long... What do they look like then? Maybe I can snap a picture of it and post it...

If you check out the above link, you will see an excellent example of before & after trimming. If it can't close it's mouth, it probably can't open it enough to eat.
