So, my salivator's favourite place seems to be with his head wedged in a plant, downwards, sideways on, diagonally! Is this normal? It looks so wrong sometimes! He eats fine, his favourite is bloodworm, he also enjoys river shrimp and snails. He swims about alot when i come home and before feeding but apart from that he puts himself in some really strange positions, is this normal resting behaviour? It just seems so strange. Has anyone else had experia :? nce of this?

Sounds normal, puffers sleep in very weird spots.

If his head is *in* the plant, maybe he finds it too bright? *Shrug*

Also long as he seems happy, is eating well, and the tank parameters are okay, I'm not sure there's much else to do but to play with some of the aesthetics. Do you have a few caves and such in the tank? Maybe he's looking for a cave or some other type of dwelling?

Like Rocco said, though, puffers can sleep in some pretty funny ways! :)

He has a little cave and a half coconut shell with moss on that he sits in sometimes but he definately prefers the plants, I dont think i have two much light, there are two 18 watts and i normally only have one on. Guess he justs sleeps in funny positions then!
