No , not my Daisy. My LFS guy has a big black puffer (dunno what kind that would be) and he is having an awful time with it. It just sits on the bottom of the tank and looks dreadful. His tanks are VERY clean, he checks ammonia level,s etc all the time and has a great filtration system - so water isn't the issue... unless these type are supposed to be in a different type of water than he has him. I'm afraid when I go today he will be dead, so and tips? Ed (my LFS guy) is really upset over the thought of losing this little guy. Or BIG guy.. as it is definetly not a dwarf species.

"Big black puffer" doesn't tell us much, a picture would be best so we can get a proper ID before giving advice. You could checkout the Pufferpedia and see if you can ID the fish yourself.

Yeah, it's hard to say, because unhappy puffers get black bellies/sides, so although he may look black, he's most likely a different colour when he's happier... What is he in? Freshwater, Brackish, or Saltwater? Does he have any strange spots/ruptures/damage/etc.?

Pictures are probably your best bet, or some type of close-up video. If you record audio, you can rhyme off all of the information like water and such, and maybe that'll help solve some of the problems!

I hope he does okay...

Prob needs a change in sg or bigger tank. Decorations can help a lot too.
