Well what size tank is it and what kind of fish is it?
The salt should have directions in there some where telling you how many cups to use to get an sg of 1.022 in like a 10 gallon tank so base it off that.

i live in japan and well i cant read japanese. theres no charts on it either. the tank is 25 gallons and right now its freshwater. the fish is a ceylon puffer. i heard they need brackish later on and so thats what im trying to do for it.
i also need some for a 2.5 gallon

What's in the 2.5 gallon?
Add 1 cup of salt to the 25 gallon and see what it reads at then.

When I'm doing fill-ups, it's a little less than 1/4 cup of marine salt per 2 gallons of water to get a reading of about 1.008. That should help out a bit, I hope. ^_^

5tsps is less that 2 tbsps. It roughly takes around a cup of salt/5g water, to raise the SG by .005.

If you are just starting off w/marine salt how much salt to water ratio to get .002?

A little less than 1/2 cup/5g. Still check w/your hydrometer, to be sure.
