My poor little baby, she was flown in yesterday and then had a 2 hour drive to the LFS. I don't blame her at all for not brushing her hair.

I think she is beatuiful with the all natural look.

I waited all day yesterday to go see her but it was after 9pm before they made it to town. So I snuck away from work and went to see her today.

I just couldn't wait another day. I will go back tomorrow for a visit, and probally everyday until I bring her home.

I start thinking, oh it would be cool to have this puffer and this and that and then i will go, but first i need a heater, nice filter, etc. so i have to stick wiht one plan or else i will never get a puffer.

Well this is day five Pauline has been in QT. I'm a little worried....ok alot worried about her. She is still not eating and she's not even swimming around. I have been to the lfs everyday except for Sunday becuase they were closed. When I went by there saturday she was breathing really heavy and just floating in the corner with her tail clamped. I went by there today and she looked like she was pinned between a rock and the aquarium wall face down tail up. I really don't think she is going to make it.

I still have her on hold and they do have another puffer that is just swimming up in the corner of the tank with it's tail clamped. But it has a small spot on it's tail that looks kinda like a pimple. I'm not sure if there is anything wrong with it. I am hoping that she pulls through but I don't want to put a sick puffer in my tank when I don't know what's wrong with it. The helper at the lfs says she looks fine to him, I'm no expert but I can certainly tell when something is wrong with a puffer. Mine are so active and I think she should be too but she's not. At first I though she was dead but she moved her eye. I am so depressed. Tell me what you think.

I'm so sorry. She does sound like she is ill. I would go with your gut instinct.

Make a separate post in the hospital section so that your questions get answered quickly and more efficiently.

I'd find a new fish store to get a porc from...
Normally they do that when the water quality's bad. It's a shame most porcs don't ship well, I had to go to 4 different stores before I got Shelby.

First let me apologize:
I posted it here only because I thought it would be easier than trying to explain where she's at and why and I can't answer all the normal questions about the water. I have no idea what their water test are, I never thought about asking.

If she were home with me I would have posted in the hospital section.
I just wanted to see if everyone thought the same thing I did. If she don't make it I will try to find another place that has one. And one that is eating and meets me at the glass. Thanks for confirming even if the news is not so good.

Healthy porcupine's are pigs and will interact with almost anyone (they want food!). Make sure it greets you at the glass and you see it eat at the store.
