WOW! I love the dragonfly and the belly button one. I really like the belly button one, I am a big fan of symmetry! All those colors in the wings of the dragon fly are just beautiful.

I'm planning a punked-out pufferfish. I said I'd never tattoo any names on me but I'm always gonna be Pufferpunk so I'm going to put Puffer (across my shoulder) above the puffer & Punk below it. I'm hoping to make it a 1/2 sleeve, or close to that. It's going to have a colorful mohawk & a saftey pin thru it's nose. Not sure about the rest of it. If there are any artists here, maybe someone can draw one up for me. I'm sure the tattoo artist I pick can do this too.

I'm also getting the Yin/Yang puffers in the Pufferstore.

Well I feel a little naked next to PP and some of you others out there but here are mine......so far.

Same on both arms.

The sun source of life.

The sun with the Yin Yang symbol is my personal symbol The sun again, life source, black = masculine/moon, white feminine/earth and they represent the core of my spiritual beliefs and search for balance.

I am a Reiki Practioner and the bottom four symbols are used in giving Reiki. They were traditionally kept secret but modern thinking is that there is no harm in sharing them.

My very first tat in memory of my husband.

Image

A year later I had it reinked when I got my second tattoo.

Image

My second tat was way more physically painful than the first one.

Image

When I got the first one... I lost the color within 3 months. So when I went to a different artist in Salina, OK for the second peice, he offered to re-ink it as long as he got to pick the colors. Six months later... I'm loving the colors. Still bright and beautiful!

*EDIT*

Thought I'd add some pics of the work being done. They're a bit blurry due to my phone. It's just not as clear for closeups.

I think some of these symbol-type tatts would be good with an explaination of what they mean to you. Where are those puffer tatts? Woland?
OK, I'll post his:

All of these tattoos are awesome!!
PP I love the leafy sea-dragon. And Wolands Puffers are sweet!

Here is the one on my right fore-arm.

Now my dragon tattoo, I designed this one myself.

My latest one, now that I have healed.

And I will throw the husbands in there. He is the one with the fish tattoos. One is a Copperband and the other is a Moorish Idol. He says you can't get a tattoo of a fish unless you have owned one for a year. (His superstitions are cute) Anyways the one on the right was fresh so there was a little blood left in it.

I try to get tatts of animals I can't keep (the oranda) or wouldn't keep (leafy seadragon). My calico oranda was in memory of all the ones I killed. :( That was before I knew about WC. I thought the water looked crystal clear, so they must me OK in there. I could never understand why whenever I added a new one, another would die.

I updated my post with explainations.

Nice Puffers Woland love the colours.

Yunachin do your husbands tatts look cool from behind when he is walking?

Anybody got a tattoo that is designed to look cool when you are moving?

PP(or any of our heavily inked friends) I know your sense of modesty and the Forum censors probably forbid this but I would love to see how all your tatts look together in a whole body shot. I think the cut up individual shots while good for showing the details don't show the beauty of seeing how all the work looks together.

The butterfly to me was symbolic of Stacy's moving on to a new life. Pretty self explanatory there. The other... is a Male Female Female Male symbols intertwined together. This is a dual symbol for me. First: My son, my two daughters and my other son... basically my birth children. My artist is working on another design to incorporate my two step children into this design. This is the "vanilla" version. The second: a symbolization of a lifestyle.

Pufferoni, You don't see too many men with bellybutton tattoos.

I like tatts that fit the peron's body shape, almost 3D, like my dragonfly with the wings wrapped around my waist & the tail swooping across my butt cheek. The leafy seadragon starts his head on my chest & his appendages go across my shoulder & as his body squiggles down my arm, his other appendages wrap around the back of my arm with his tail landing on the front of my forearm.
