For a further explaination: keeping fish in waters unsutable for them, like a FW fish in BW or BW in FW, will stress them, compromising their immune system causing disease & early death.

Just because a fish can be kept or seems to do okay in a tank that is not designed for it doestn mean it should be kept in it.

Yea, really, you have to ask yourself whats healthiest for the fish, not what it can survive, IMO. Of course, research is needed to determine what is and isn't healthy for a fish - example, F8's, which are FW in the wild, but really only seem to live full lives in at least slightly brackish waters in captivity.
