I decided that I'd start to document the adventure of creating my background, so here it goes!

There are four main things I wanted to do with this project. The first was to make a fancy background for my (eventual) dwarf puffers. The second was to have a little hollowed out portion to put a plant in (almost like a built-in pot). The third was to have a decent overhang for some nice shade. The fourth, and final goal, was to have a faux overflow setup (similar to a sump) built into the tank.

I'm hoping that, assuming the plan goes well, that I can accomplish all of these. I've run into a couple snags, such as my coats of cement cracking and falling off the foam background. I've attempted to remedy this by putting on an extremely thick coat, but we'll see how it goes, I suppose.

So far, these are the only pictures I have. I will update it as I progress further!

Hehe, Lindor chocolates, some Hershey kisses (caramel ones), and other misc. chocolate! ^_^

There's also some Charlie Brown in one of the pictures, haha.

Yeah, I've neglected the last coat for a week now because of getting all this other stuff up a running. I should probably go put the last coat on so I can stick'r to the tank and be over with it! ^_^

It's on hold until Sunday, as I hope to get some new fishes today! But you'll have to wait until I take pictures.

Ditto, I'd love to see this with water and the DP's when you finish setting it up.

Yeah... about that. Turns out I miscalculated some parts of it, and it no longer fits in the tank. I ground down a bunch of the parts, but it's turned into a huge pain in the buttocks, so I've bailed on the project for now. The pieces are still there, but the tank's been put into use.

Once my projects and exams are finished, I'm going to make a few foam decorations, but the background has been canceled for the time being. Sorry

If I get more time and motivation in the summer, I might try to finish it, hehe.
