I've heard that some puffers like to dig in the sand. Is this the case with Dwarf Puffers? I'm not sure what type of substrate I should get. I'm leaning more towards the fine gravel, but if the DPs really like sand, then I don't want to ruin their fun. ^_^

I've never seen my dps dig in sand. Actually I don't think I've heard of more than 2 people who had dps dig in the sand.
I'd go with fine gravel, its easier to clean.

I agree! Never saw my DPs trying to bury themselves! Are you getting some soon?

I have small stones in the tank that mine are in. I have never seen him burrow either. He is the size of a stone in there though..

Yeah, I'm aquascaping a 10g, and once I put the water through it a bunch to remove the cement's tendency to buffer the pH, I'm going to have DPs in it. I'm picking up a second filter today, and putting it on my other 10g so that it can cycle and be ready when the tank is.

Alrighty, I'll stick to my small gravel idea!

I am excited to see what the tank looks like when it is done.
