I agree, 30 gallons as a minimun. It's probably better if the tank is long rather than deep. Mine likes to zoom back and forth so it feels like there is more room than there really is.

thats great because i just got a 20 with a filter and everything. i just need to decorate it. should i have lots of hiding places and can they live with some corals.

im not so sure i what a valentini anymore because i looked at some ohter tobies and the papua(n) caught my eye. any recomendations.

Are we talking about a 20 gallon tank? I wouldnt keep any saltwater puffer in less than 40 gallons in my opinion. They are just too active and would get very bored in a small tank.

yeah i looked at the minimum tanks sizes. im getting a valintini puffer and he will be upgraded into a 30 when it cycles.

how fast do they grow. could it last in a 20 for 6 months until i move

It could but honestly you should just wait. It will be much much easier for you and the puffer.
