is there something i can do to make my GSP's color really vivid. i saw a GSP today at a LFS and they had a super bright little guy. his black is really dark and his green was glowing. i dont want to donate my fish and get him but instead try to make mine look like that. is there a way i can do this

Great parameters, with the proper size tank & SG, & really healthy foods.

hmmm...I'll have to work on getting a picture of this.....but my gsp is a nice green/yellow colour.....and on top of his head sometimes looks like it's glowing. My boyfriend asked me why he glows there sometimes.....but I have no idea!

Hehe, this reminds me: I once got told my two F8s looked like they were radioactive :O

What is the 'ideal' colour? I prefer my GSP when he's lighter, but he's usually a darkish shade of green with a fluorescent patch of yellow on his head. He does sometimes change for the lighter, though.

Bright white belly and not faded. Otherwise shades of greens and yellows are okay as they tend to change color depending on lighting and mood.

So does anyone know what's up with the "glowing" area on the top?.....aka flourescent area ?

My GSP is always glowing with a very bright green/almost yellow. I changed Milton's tank last week and the lighting is very different. The rest of his color has changed quite a bit. He is more yellow than green on the rest of his body. His tummy is always bright white though. When he starts prowling the tank sometimes he lightens his spots but then he comes out to see me and his spots go back to black. Its very interesting, the colors of the gsp.
