I have a GSP in freshwater. I have had him barely a week and he is less than one inch big. I was wondering when I should begin to convert his tank to brackish water.

You need to purchase a hydrometer and marine salt. Then you can raise the gravity 0.02 per week. GSP's need a higher level of salinity in the tank about 1.010-1.015.

Youre welcome. They do better in brackish to full marine.

I believe yuna meant to say raise no more than 0.002 in SG per week. Changes larger than that will put your bio filter at risk.

You don't have to raise it that fast though. There is a good article in our Library explaining everything you need to know about the care of your puffer.
