hey guys,

when i got back from Germany last week my puffer was fine :) so all is well.

im now preparing to start the transition from Fw to light brackish. ive bought some red sea marine salt but didnt get a hydrometer at the time because i wasnt sure on the range.
ive read up on what SG i need for light brackish (GSP >2") and know it needs to be gradual (.002)

there are still a few points which i am unclear on though.

firstly, you guys refer to 'cups' per gallon. what the hell is a cup? and can i get a measurement in litres please :wink:

secondly, hydrometers either go from the SG of brackish or 1.000 am i right in assuming 1.000 is the SG for FW? (thats what is confusing me most)

once i have this sorted i can buy a hyrometer, do the math and proceed with caution 8)

im out of office for a while now so will prob not be able to reply for a while.

thanking you in advance :P

FW = 1.000

When buying the hydrometer make sure it starts at 1.000 since it is a pain to make measurements otherwise.
