While searching through Aquabid I came across this puffer:

What is it exactly? I've never seen a puffer like it.

I have here this beautiful Orange puffer (pic does no justice) up for grabs I've had this fish for about 2 years and I have never had a problem with it other than aggresion with its tank mates. He/she eats pellets and feeders if offered and has been living in 100% freshwater all its life.

Forget to add that it is 6"+ in size

They relisted it if anyone is interested. I e-mailed them and asked if they knew what kind of puffer it was and if they had any side pictures.

I'd kill for a fish like this, it's so pretty. If Christmas wasn't so close, I'd be all over this.... my family doesn't really need presents right? lol.

You know I was browsing because this fish is just amazing and I came across this...

It is the Tagifuku Puffer, which I think someone was talking about in another post, but if you look at the side spots on the original picture and the back spot, they are in similar places, just the original image has more lines. Perhaps the owner happened to come across a rarely marked one of the same species. Like I have a clownfish with stripes down only one side...
What does everyone else think?

yes, it's most likely takifugu ocellatus.

I got an e-mail back from them, it is takifugu ocellatus.

And the side pictures of him are even more amazing. I'm so in love.

Think it is a T. ocellatus, too.
Very rare morph likely. I'd take it if I had the possibility.

I was reading about them in the pufferpedia. And it sounds like they need about the same set up as a GSP, do you think I could keep them together in a large enough tank? (like a 75-100gallon tank?)

And is there any reason they need 55gallons as opposed to 29? I just recently purchased a 29gallon, and if I could keep him in there I'd be really tempted to buy him.

And the person I talked to says he's been living in 100% freshwater his whole life and he's over two years old now. Would it be better for him to be moved to brackish/marine? or should I keep him in freshwater?

That is one nice morph of an Ocellatus.
2 years is some going for an Ocellatus, most people struggle to keep them alive and they just stop eating and die. Cooler marine conditions have been spoken about in keeping them long term but I dont know if i'd be inclined to change the conditions he is in if the guy is telling the truth and he's had him 2 years.
