Hey everyone, I went to a local fish store today and one of the guys who work there told me about an albino figure 8 puffer fish, that he had for sale in July. It was my first time, ever hearing about albino puffer fish, I knew it was possible but whoa I would like to see one. He told me that a guy from Rochester New York, came all the way down to the island to pick it up whether it was dead or alive, for 450 dollars. I was in shock by all of this, and he continued to tell me that it was actually fully grown about 3.5 inches in the wild.

I was wondering if anyone else heard about albino puffers or seen them, because the way he described the figure 8 was like white with orange markings and i guess red eyes..how cool would that be. I am just mainly curious about this albino figure 8. I didnt know if this was an old topic or not, so I hope I can gain some light on this, lol.

Plus does anyone know the rarity of albino puffs?

I would think any animal could turn oput an albino. I think that shop probably ripped that guy off though. They probably paid $1 for that fish.

What store was it? Suffolk Fish and Reef?

Too bad there were not any pictures taken. You think with something so rare there would be plenty of pictures floating around on the internet.
