Hi All,

Having a prob on transporting and intro the puffer to my tank.
Like to learn/know what's the better way to transport and intro my congo which is coming in to my tank tonight.

I hope your tank is fully cycled and mature and you have already ensured it is big enough and suitable for your new friend..... if this is the case then I tend to use this method....
Ensure the store double bag your puffers to ensure they don't bite through the bag.
If you have a long way to go and they have the facilities then ask them to use oxygen in the bag
Get your new puffer home as quickly as possible and try to avoid un-necessary stress on the way home (keep in the dark and drive as sensibly as possible!!)
Once home just get a bucket and some airline.... put the fish in the bucket with the water from the shop and then drip the water from the tank into the bucket using airline syphoning down.... then carefully and gently pop the fish back in the bag with the water they are currently in and float on the tank for 15 minutes or so and then do a few dips (about one every 5-10 minutes for about half an hour if the fish is not getting too stressed in the bag) and then away..... Just let the fish slide out of the bag rather than tip it and pour it out if possible.
Just be careful not to let them puff and take in air... although most of them will burp afterwards on their own it is not good for them. If done well the puffer need not have a net around them as I normally manage to slide the bag underneath them and scoop them up.
To be honest if done correctly I think this is the best way to acclimatise them anyway as it's nice and gentle. You can tie knots in the airline to slow down the drips if you need to. Hope that helps.....

Thanks for info. My tank as been cycle for 2 months water parameter is at pH7.6 No2:0 No3:0 Tank size 4x2x2.
