Nearly everything on that page is wrong and needs to be disreguarded. They don't eve keep the scientific names and common names strait. I think they get the max size and temperature range right, but only those two things, everything else is either wrong, incomplete, or misleading.

Isn't it easy to see how so many people get the wrong ideas about puffers? Between the LFS and information like this circulating, it adds up to a lot of sick fish and upset keepers.

Hi Everyone,
This is my website you are talking about, and how wrong did I get it! I have kept freshwater tropical fish for years, but never Pufferfish, so I don't have personal knowledge of them, and obviously my sources were incorrect. It is quite worrying the amount of mis-information out there, and I've tried really hard to get my facts right, but obviously I got it wrong here. I have changed the page, and any comments would be appreciated:

Also, if anyone has a good photo which they would be happy for me to put on the website I would be very grateful.
Thanks for your help

What an amazingly impressive response! Glad to have you - looks MUCH better now, the only thing I'd change is I'd recommend tank size in gallons(~30) rather than inches in length, while both are important, GSP are usually kept single specimen so enough water to dilute the waste is more critical than exact swimming space.

Wow I am impressed with you response. Most people tend to be quite defensive when their "knowledge on puffers" is questioned.
Hopefully with a bit of time here you will get some good info, linking to us is a great idea too. I would like to point you to our article section where there is plenty to learn

Kudos on your response to the criticism, it's very admirable!
Though, we don't have any GSPs, I just wanted to mention if you wanted to do a page on
T. fluviatilis (Ceylon/Topaz Puffer, very similar to GSP), Spoot and myself have plenty of pictures we could send you.
