Does anyone have any experience with treating the parasite Livoneca? This is not on any of my puffers, but came with some wild caught corydoras.

Noone out there? BTW, Livoneca is a kind of Isopod, more like fish lice. I got them with my wild caught corydoras. With my extremely nice corydoras. They are the love of my life, I think

I've never dealt with it but I remember readingh that you can remove them manually with a finger nail. Didn't someone here do this?

I've done a bit of research and it seems they do not do well in captivity anyway but any treatment that kills gill flukes should take care of these too

So Flubenol should take out those little nasty things too?

If I remember rightly it should do the trick. I've never used it though so not certain

At a Norwegian forum, someone provided this link to show what an isopod looked like. I hope that it isn't this one crawling around on my fish

OMG. That one was disgusting! Suddenly I started to itch everywhere... It doesn't look like what I have on my corys, but it could be that you don't see the shape clearly when they are properly attached?

are you sure its not a gill fluke? I would treat it to be on the dafe side

I would suspect to find gill flukes somewhere close to the gills. This one is at the end (and root) of the dorsal fin. A friend of mine, who got the fish from the same place (same corydoras - we split the deliverance), found one on the fish's belly. She got the thing identified by corydoras expert himself: Ian Fuller.

I'm not the one who got his answer (it's on Corydorasworld, and I'm not a member there), but according to my friend, he didn't.

Do I have to? The thought of picking those things kind of freaks me out. Isn't there any meds that will kill them? Brrrr...I get goosebumps...
