compatibility advice

As many of you would know, im looking for a fresh water puffer fish but not in stock at the moment. it is quite difficult to find one here downunder (Australia). well at the moment i got a nice Pink-Tailed Chalceus about 14cm and very wealthy. tank is 3 foot and hold about 160 lts. any advice on which puffer fish would be compatible with this little guy??

A South American Puffer would be your best bet, not many others will work.

That's a really nice-looking chalcius--actually called a Yellow-finned. That chalcius is going to need a much larger tank. They grow quite large, are extremely skittish & need a lot of swimming room. My 10"er is in a 125g tank & still knocks off some scales when & approach the tank too quickly.

yeah... planning to get a 5x2x2 tank... but if i get it may go saltwater... just for the fact that is not really easy to find a fresh water puffer fish in Australia... (i'll sad if i have to get rid of him :()
