Fake Plastic Plants & Epoxy

Hi,

I have found some very realistic looking plastic plants in my LFS and would like to add them to my F8 puffer tank, which has a salinity of 1.005. I have noticed that the stems of the plants have been injection moulded around a mild steel rod. This metal rod is visible in some areas. My question is this, as the mild steel corrodes; will this cause problems to my F8 and water parameters? Am I better sticking to all plastic plants?

Also, can anyone recommend a good epoxy glue for fixing grey slate together, which won't look out of place?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Kind regards

It's for terrarium use, even lightly brackish water will not just cause surface corrosion on steel, it will rot it apart in short order.
