Hello TPF peoplesss...

I was just wondering if anyone had experiences in keeping their GSP with zoanthids? My gsp tank is currently at 1.022SG and I'm going to try to put some zoas in a week or two..... someone already gave me some zoas and it's sitting in my quarantine tank waiting for my GSP tank to be ready.... I just want people's experiences or opinion whether I should try it or not? I searched and searched but couldnt find anything....

If my GSP nips on it then I guess I'll be giving the zoas away.....

yeah taht's what i was thinking too, since they're free might as well try it right? hahahahah

well I dont want to kill them because they're beautiful... the guy that gave them to me was pretty nice, he gave me lots of them, i think 40 heads/polyps..... he also gave me 3 heads of candy cane corals which are very beautiful under actinic lighting :)

Sounds like enough to go around! When you get your collection going, we can do some trading. Did you find a reef club near you?

So, yesterday my water reached 1.024SG and I decided to put one of the zoas( Pennies from Heaven) in the GSP tank. There is good news and also bad news. Bad news is that he ate one of the small polyp and took a bite off another one. After this, he was checking out the stuff for about 10-15mins and got bored of it and just left it all alone. I woke up in the morning and everything was fine, I think he just wanted a little taste and see if it's delicious, and I guess it's not. Also, the polyps are big when they open up and I guess he's scared of this. He only took a bite off the smalls ones.

He's completely ignoring the stuff right now so I think my GSP might do well with zoas :) I can't wait to put the rest of the zoas in the tank and hopefully he'll ignore it after he tastes and explore a couple of them.. :crosses fingers:

My puffers dont eat zoas, but when I first put acros in the tank they will rush up to them and usually peck at it. But then they do exactly as you said, get bored of them and leave them alone!

Good luck!
