I think a lot more tall plants along the sides and back will make your suvattii a little more comfortable and stop him pacing furiously as hes doing in your video.

yep im slowly adding real plants i buy a bunch of 10 a week my lfs wants £1.50 a plant lol. they should wear striped jumpers and a mask there. do you think false plants will do ok...i just think that the puffer wont appriciate fake plastic plants. there is 15 plants in there now although it doesnt look like it in them pics lol.

I always use fake plants, the more silk style ones do the job and provide a lot of cover. Still got some old crappy plastic ones, they still do the job. You could try a combo of live and fake, it could look really nice. Are the sides covered by plants now?

i see what you mean...yeah my lfs only has them real takky looking bright things but i can go into town for some silk ones. at the moment iv got all my plants round the plant pot to make it dark and hidden but he hasnt gone in it anyway. im going to take your advice and move them round. hes a friendly little critter everytime i walk into the room he swims to the front to say hello. my other half was cleaning the front this morning and he was shaking his head at her chasing her hand. i put my finger in today to stick the temp stick back on and almost lost a chuck of my finger hes a interesting fellow

I agree, he's most likely pacing due of the lack of decor. Is the sand deep enough and spots bare enough for him to bury himself if he wants?

yes the sand is spot on i followed all the info from the library on here its as deep as him and shallow in some areas. im going to get some more decor and plants as soon as i can and see what happens.

I picked up some big Juwel fake plants, they were about a fiver each, give massive coverage and look quite realistic. They were the best ones i've found for the money so far.

That light seems awfully bright. Maybe it's making him feel exposed.

to be honest it isnt all that bright it was taken on a mobile phone which makes it look that way. the tank only has manafactures lighting system it has a aqua glow and a plant grow bulb in.

If you add real plants, You're still going to have to stir the sand under them. Fake is way easier with sand.

Also the green/white plant in the first pic isnt an aquatic plant and will rot. Its a semi aquatic plant mislaballed and sold by loads of stores.
