Fin Rot?!

I JUSt looked at my white, male molly and noticed he had a black edge to his caudle fin. So i just took no chances and he's in transportation to my quarentine tank, which I not-to-long ago treated my goldfish for fin rot in.

I honestly can't tell you parameters of the tank, because I don't have a test kit. I do, though, do 25-50% water changes weekly. Only thing added to the tank is a slime coat and a little salt (I just add a couple tablespoons when I change water.)

I'm just afraid of having a outbreak in that tank, as it is my community tank and I have all my kuhli loaches, plecos, mollies and babies in it.

Melafix and Pimafix according to bottles directions.

You should get a test kit ASAP, the liquid master ones...not the strips. That'll go a long way in helping your fish.

I have the Jungle Labs fizz tabs, they work for me.

Anyway, I plan on getting a test kit as soon as I can get money (my parents are living off a dollar till next monday, and I live off allowance.)

My Beta had a little bit of fin rot a while ago and I dosed his tank with Melafix/pimafix combo and it cleared right up fast. And it's gentler than the fizz tabs because it's all natural. Basicly it won't hurt your molly babies.

I might do that when I get money, but for now I'm just going to watch him in a quarentine tank.
