i just went into see my wee beautiful fig8 puffer and i couldn't find him anywhere. so i started looking around the tank and there he was. half dried out behind the tank. he jumped out of a gap on the back of the hood . so any good ideas on how to plug this hole up.

all water stats were good. amonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate 10 sg 1.002.

i had heard puffers can be jumpers. but i thought the small gap was too small for it to be likely for him to jump through it. it must have been 1 in a 1000 chance he would go through the gap.

i know i have only had him since tueday but he was my favoyrute fish i've had yet. he was so cute, inquizative and fun to watch allways searching around the plants and substrate.

i'm going to the fish store tommorrow to order another one. hopefully it should come in with the tuesday delivery.

he's a couple of pics of him r.i.p. littlwe f8 (hadn't found a good name for him yet)

I know people that use duct tape to cover any holes. What I have used that worked for me was those plastic grids use for cross-stitch/needle point

Bad news Gary, sorry for the loss. I find the best way is to replace the fish straight away if you can source another.

Make sure you use ammonia or something to keep the tank cycled.
