Hi guys,

First question is do Fahakas like fast water as my Fahaka is acting very lazy so i added another filter to his tank would this be ok because I was concerned not enough oxygen was getting into the tank.

Secondly he now appears to have gone of his food and is sitting on the bottom looking rather sad. I have conditioned the water and also added ammonia and nitrate treatments to see if this helps bring him back to life a bit more. Could he just be going through a phase?

Using any sort of ammonia or nitrite treatments, other than Prime or something similar, is a bad idea. They will interfere with the biological cycle and can crash it, causing death.

I monitored him today and it seems to be he is bumping into things and his tail is permanently displayed fully raised. It might be the fact i tried to stroke and I think I spooked him. Anybody had the same problem his colours and appearance is very vibrant.

My GSP bumps into things when I first turn on the lights in the morning. He doesn't respond to anything when he just wakes up I guess he's still lazy, hehehhe. I even tap the glass and he doesn't run away.

The first couple of week of getting him, I thought he was going to die, but I figured out that he just woke up and still lazy, just like humans I guess.... hehe

I would recommend against touching him as you can damage his natural slime coat which is all he has for protection since he doesn't have scales.
