hi,
i was down by the river i live near today, and i collected a series of small black snails with brown spots. i was wondeing if its ok to feed them to my F8. i also collected a number of egg masses, would it be ok to feed the spawn , once theyve hatched, to my F8? the river is quite dirty, but i did wipe all the snail shells with a paper towel before putting them in a seperate holding container.(with clean water)

If you want to use snails from the wild, I would breed them through several generations before you feed them to your puffs. There is no telling what contaminants and such is in that river.

Effect of bad water aren't limited to what's coated on the shells of the fish, but what kind of toxins may be present in the flesh of the snail. Personally I wouldn't want to risk it...

ahhh, ok , thats what i thought, i guess i will put them back. I am having a lot of trouble finding snails to feed my puffer, and im worried that his beak will grow too big. does anyone know how long this takes?
